This is a portrait of a post-civil war African-American family, their challenges and vision from the 1860’s to the present. They managed to survive slavery, reconstruction, the Jim Crow and the Separate but Equal Era, achieving in part the American Dream. Time does heal old wounds and moving forward gives power to the individual and the future.
