Nearly every aspect of life in California is now affected by what happened on February 9, 1971 in Sylmar. The 6.5 quake killed more than 60 people and was a wakeup call for the region. Scientists now regard the Sylmar quake as the most important seismic event in US history. The film details it from the beginning through the eyes and words of those who lived it more than 50 years ago.
